Sustainability at Max Steier, Germany

How do you act sustainably in a medium - sized industrial company for self - adhesive technology?

In the middle of the countryside, in one of the largest contiguous tree nursery areas in Europe, the owners and employees always have nature in mind.

Conserving resources and the environment are important concerns in all work and production steps. Under the guidelines of quality management in accordance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and environmental management in accordance with ISO 14001, partnership-based cooperation with customers and suppliers is a prerequisite for ensuring long-term success. Sustainable management means taking responsibility for the future.

Max Steier produces thousands of different products in northern Germany, 35 km north of Hamburg, close to the North Sea at two locations and supplies over 3000 companies at home and abroad, including all the big names in German and international industry.

Producing the best and optimal products for our customers is always linked to environmental considerations and is done with our environmental goals in mind.

What do we mean by sustainability ?

Economic sustainability, securing the company, securing production in Germany, in the region, securing the company within the family, securing jobs through training and further education, securing through continuous investment, so that Max Steier is mechanically positioned in such a way that it can still produce for the new technologies of customers and the market tomorrow.

Social sustainability means responsibility in the region and for the employees who live here and who have an average length of service of 15 years and thus have a profound knowledge of the processing of all materials and also of the know-how of production in order to fulfill even the most demanding customer requirements.

Ecological sustainability means not only the continuous reduction of environmental impact, such as the use of modern energy-efficient machines, the reduction of waste and the promotion of recycling as part of the environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001, but also the use of local resources and cooperation with sustainable economic companies.

Cultural sustainability means that the future needs a past, which is why we not only support charitable and cultural institutions, but also promote the voluntary work of employees and owners.
