Single-Sided Adhesive Foams are particularly suitable for sealing, damping, or soft-mounting applications due to their special properties.
They are predominantly used in industrial applications, in the electronics sector, and in consumer products and devices, demonstrating long-term functional reliability over the desired service life.
In addition, single-sided adhesive foams are considered lightweight relative to their volume, providing excellent potential for weight savings. Various thicknesses and densities with different compression hardnesses or recovery forces are available.

- Foams are excellently suited for sealing against dirt particles and moisture. Their high adaptability with long-lasting recovery force (compression set) to material- and shape-specific surface features enables use in both mobile and stationary devices. Additionally, they can help reduce or prevent lubricant leaks from encapsulated systems or housings.
- Partially adhesive die-cut parts made from open-cell foams allow air circulation and thus provide a filtering function.
Damping
- Single-sided self-adhesive foams are widely used for sound insulation. Their special acoustically absorbent material structure makes them highly effective in noise reduction.
- They reduce construction-related noise, particularly in moving metallic components.
- Noise generated by vibrations, including varying amplitudes, rattling, or knocking sounds, can be damped or completely suppressed.
Soft Mounting
- Vibrations and noise usually occur around moving components, e.g., in aerospace, automotive, and electronics applications.
- Reducing vibrations or friction in assemblies leads to fewer failures.
- Soft-mounted components minimize the risk of parts loosening, shifting, or being damaged.
- Soft mounting also serves as anti-squeak and rattle protection, preventing disturbing noises from moving parts.
- Foams act as spacers, allowing ventilation and heat dissipation.
Antistatic, conductive, high-temperature-resistant, self-extinguishing, hydrophobic, hydrolysis-resistant, and low-emission material grades are also available. Adapted to high requirements, open- or closed-cell foam versions are used, each featuring a single-sided, high-performance adhesive system. This ensures that the desired installation at the point of use is achieved with outstanding material properties and an efficient delivery format.
