Description

When an SMD Tape, without leader, is to be fed into a pick & place machine the Cover Tape has to be pulled back to allow the advancing mechanism of a tape feeder to engage, which usually leads to the loss of several components. With short SMD Tape lengths, expensive components or short production runs this is unlikely to be acceptable. SMD Cover Tape Extenders provide the required extension with a non-adhesive, milky matt PET foil. Valuable components can be saved. The yellow, self-adhesive section is permanently attached up to the black mark. Cover Tape Extenders are supplied in special transport, storage and dispensing cartons, from where they are easily picked one at the time.
